Stephen D. Rabourn, 90, of Kalkaska, died Sat. Jan 6, 1996 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center-Long-Term Care Unit. 

Mr. Rabourn arrived in Kalkaska by train on Apr 8, 1914. He was employed by Kalkaska County Road Commission from 1935 to the time of semi-retirement in 1968. He was a life member of the Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Michigan for 69 years, the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Michigan and the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Michigan. He was born on Sep 10, 1905, in Holden, WV, and was adopted by Charles O. and Olive A. Carpenter Rabourn. On Sep 15, 1933, he married Margaret Louise MacDonald.

Surviving are four sons, Stephen N (Bobby) of Berlin German, Charles C (Patricia) of Wyoming, Don G. (Shirley) and Duncan Mack (Hazel) both of Kalkaska; one brother August (Nina) Kice of Grand Rapids; a special friend, Margaret Rabourn Raney; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. 

Stephen would like to remember Rita and the entire staff of the long-term care unit at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. He also leaves these special words for his loved ones, "keep your family together-love one another."

Funeral services were held Mon, Jan 8, 1996 at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Rev. Charles VanLente officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
