Roy S. Watson, 80, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska, died Wednesday evening, September 5, 1990 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. 

Mr. Watson was a retired carpenter. 

He was born in Stitsville on Aug. 22, 1910 to Leonard and Stella Crellar Watson. On Aug. 22, 1936, in Angola, Ind., he was united in marriage with Ardis Cross who survives. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Gordon Watson of Marshall, Wayne Watson of Kalkaska, Dale Watson of East Jordan, and Arnold Watson of Battle Creek; three daughters, Phyllis Anderson, Sandra Waltz, and Kathy McCauley all of Kalkaska; three brothers, Ray Watson of Midland, Leon Watson of Kalamazoo, and George Watson of El Cajon, Calif.; three sisters, Zola McIntyre and Clara Wagonschutz both of Englewood, Fla., and Mae Smith of Clare; 23 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Everett Watson, one sister Rose Waldorf, and one great grandchild. 

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 8, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Jeff Badgero officiated. Burial was in Excelsior Twp. Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
