Ronald J. Arnett, 85, of Marysville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 17, 2004.

He was born September 2, 1919 in Port Huron to the late George and Mary Arnett.

Mr. Arnett was a carman with the grand Trunk Western Railroad. He served with the U.S. Army Railroad Battalion Company B and was stationed during WWII in the European Theater. He was a member of Marysville American Legion Post 449. He was a member of the Fathom Finders Scuba divers and founding member of the St. Clair County Sherriff’s dive team. He enjoyed wood carving, hunting, fishing and square dancing. He was active with Columbus Baptist Church, was an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 47 in Kimball, and was also a member of the Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. David (Ruth) Arnett and Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Susan) Arnett of St. Clair Township; two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald (Diane) Cole of Port Huron and Mr. and Mrs. Steven (Kathy) Down of Marysville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Arnett of Port Huron; sister, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne (Silvia) Krinjob of Mesa, AZ; a sister-in-law Katherine M. Arnett of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother Stanley Arnett, and two sisters, Dorothy Merchand and Joan Scheland.

Visitaion will be today from 2-4 and 7-9pm in the Marysville Funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday at Columbus Baptist Church. The Rev. Donald Pew will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Greg Arnett, Bruce Arnett, Christopher Cole, Kirk Down, Eric Down and his nephew Paul Merchant.

Granveside military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County allied Veterans.
