BIRTH: 08 Nov 1928 Marysville, Union, Ohio

DEATH: 27 Mar 2023 Lee's Summit, Cass, Missouri

Roberta Jean (Bobby) Foster, 94, resident of Lee’s Summit, MO, died Mon, Mar 27 about 6:15 am in her sleep. A former Orlando and Sidney, OH area resident, Bobby had been a patient in the hospital and rehab units since Dec 2022 due to complications from a September stroke.

She was born Nov 8, 1928, in Marysville, OH daughter of Maurice and Lavawn Magly. In 1950, Maurice Magley Jr, Robert’s only sibling was born.

On Sep 24, 1950, she and Philip Gene Foster were married in the First Presbyterian Church in Sidney, OH. Bobby and Phil raised three children; Deborah, Scott, and Blake. Their second child, Dr. Scott Foster, resides in Lee’s Summit, MO, with his wife Dr. Barbara Gilley. Bobby is survived by her son Scott, and 9 grandchildren and great grandchildren plus one due in early June.

Roberta lived a full life raising her three children in Orlando, FL, and participating in all phases of their activities. Bobby enjoyed the years when her children were growing up. Her oldest child, Deborah, was active in pageants, played the violin and cheered for the Orlando Panthers. After Scott and Blake finished with high school sports, Bobby began years of scorekeeping with the Orlando Recreation Department and proctored professional licensing examinations. She loved the years of boating with Phil in and around the Central Florida waterways. Bobby loved gardening, especially her prized Roses, and tending to the wild Martins as they arrived each season. She was very fond of the memories of the time she spent with her granddaughter, Betsey and her family, in south Florida. Many years ago, Bobby relocated to the Kansas City area to live near her oldest son, Scott and his lovely wife, Barbara to enjoy time with their seven children. Most recently, Bobby still liked to hang out at the apartment pool and play cards with her neighbors. As her health was failing, she was even found wearing her “KC Chiefs” jersey for all the games and the super bowl win. Two weeks ago, at 94, she played the bingo games at the rehab nursing facility.

Mrs. Foster’s body was cremated. Her ashes will be spread according to her wishes.
