Robert M. Cummer, 75, of Fife lake, passed away on may 30, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 5, 1943 in Grand Rapids to the late Robert A. and Annette (Michalak) Cummer. Robert loved being outdoors; especially hunting and fishing, and he always looked forward to camping and taking river trips with friends and family. He also enjoyed riding horses and bull riding in his youth. He was quite the jokester and liked to tell stories of his younger years. Robert enjoyed baseball especially the Detroit Tigers, boxing and watching westerns. Robert worked for over 30 years at Wayne Wire in the tool and die department. Robert was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was a fighter who would never give up. Robert will be missed and continually loved by his wife Beth Cummer, children, Therese (Bob), Stevie, Jim (Debbie), Ray (Lena), Matt, and Joanna (Brian); grandkids: Nathan, Samantha, Heather, Jimmy, Justin, Jacob, Allen, Ray, Lisa, Jessica, Maddie, Molly, Bridget, Daniel, Mckenzie, Nick, Randy, Sara, Taylor, Josiah, Ashley, Emily and Caitlyn, great grandchildren: Brooke, Allysa, Gaige, Kaelei, Zaidyn, Zander, Lexi, Laci, Zayden, Mason, Zaymon, Amaris, Aiden, Liset, Samuel, Clayton, Amelia, Audrina, and Jessa; brother, Michael (Debbie) Cummer, step mom, Wenona Cummer, and step siblings, Dan, Vivian, Tom (Cindy) and April. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and great grandson Orlan Cummer. A memorial service for Robert will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Kalkaska Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
