Robert E. Harrington, 48, drowned in Manistique, Jul 15, 2000, while rescuing a young child.
He was born in Cheboygan on Jul 29, 1952, to Robert E Harrington and Dixie (Youmans) Harrington. Robert lived in the Flint area most of his life. He was a journeyman carpenter for 30 years. On Jun 30, 1982, he married Nellie McFalls.
Besides his wife, he is survived by mother Dixie Matthews of Mineral Wells, TX; stepchildren Kathy (Alex) Davis, Tony McFalls of Flint, and Penny (Joe) Davila-Martinez of Clio; brothers Sam Matthews, Paul (Kathy) Matthews of Kalkaska, Bill (Sherry) Matthews of Oak Harbor, WA,a nd Jeff (Cathy) Matthews of Copperas Cove, TX; sisters Bernadette (Rick) Ford of Owosso, Terri (Rick) Ingersoll of Kalkaska, and Cindy (Ted) Bandy of Mineral Wells, TX; five step grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.
His father and grandparents preceded him in death.
