Dixie Rose Matthews, 85, of Mineral Wells, TX, died Sun, Dec 5, 2010 in Mineral Wells.
Dixie donated her body to the University of North Texas Health and Science Center in Fort Worth, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Sat, Jun 4, at 11 am at the Church of Nazarene, Kalkaska. A luncheon will follow the service at the Kalkaska Moose Lodge on M-66.
Dixie was born Nov 23, 1925 in Goodrich, MI, the daughter of Myron and Florance Youmans. Dixie was married to Robert Harrington of Cheboygan; she was also married to Jarvis Matthew from New York.
Survivors include her brother, Jack (Mildred) Youmans of Kings Mountain, NC; sisters, Louella Haynack of Phoenix, AZ, and Eleonor (Bob) Barker of Goodrich, MI; daughters, Bernadette (Rick) Ford of Durand, MI, Teri (Rick) Ingersoll of Kalkaska, and Cindy (Ted) Bandy of Mineral Wells, TX; sons, Sam Matthews of Kalkaska, Bill (Sherry) Matthews of Columbus, OH, Paul (Kathy) Matthews of Elk City, OK, and Jeff (Cathy) Matthews of Waco, TX; 25 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Florance Youmans; husband, Robert Harrington; brothers, Bill, Al, and Robert Youmans; son and daughter in law, Robert and Nellie Harrington; and grandson, Jake Ingersoll.
