Richard Allen Ries, born January 19, 1936, to the parents of Dale and Esther (Every) Ries, died October 28, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. Richard will be remembered for his kind smile, ridiculous sense of humor and his overwhelming love for his family. Richard retired after many years of faithful service to “The Olds” as he always referred to it. Richard was always tinkering on something; he always was scheming his next project or a new invention, he never ran out of ideas on how to rework something. Richard’s love for his family, especially those grandkids, will also bring sweet memories. Richard & Carol took many wonderful trips over the years and owned many houses, so many great times and memories were had in those places. He will be missed and loved forever. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carol. Son Dick (Karen), daughter Rachelle (Jeff) Wilson, grandsons Ryan, Joshua, and Kyle, and granddaughters Holeigh, Kerissah and Maleah. He is also survived by 7 beautiful great granddaughters and brother Milton. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Georgia (Oesterle), brothers, Don, Gilbert, Gordon, and Clayton, son, Carl, and grandson Seth. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 9th at 1 pm at the Nazarene Church of Mason. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the Nazarene Church of Mason.
