Octavia A. Turbin, 77, of Gaylord died Tuesday, Nov 6, 1990 at Tendercare, Gaylord.
She had been a former resident of Mancelona, and she was a graduate of Mancelona High School. She was retired from the Chalet Motor Lodge of Gaylord, where she was employed as an assistant manager. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gaylord. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
On Nov. 26, 1912 in East Jordan, she was born to Charles and Eliza (Wilson) Johnson.
She is survived by two sons, Denny Turbin of Gaylord, and Larry Turbin of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Gail) Holstad of Flushing and Mrs. Jack (Marlene) Lyke of Kalamazoo; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Vercil and Wilford Johnson, both of Manistee Lake.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Larson, and three sisters, Virginia Slocum, Thelma Engel, and Reatha Lather.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov 9 at the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona with Elder Theodore Engel officiating. burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
