Norman T. Johnston, 68, of Military Road, Beaver Creek Township, passed away at Grayling Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, October 28th, 1964. He was born April 19, 1895, in Walfred, Ontario, Canada, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnston. He came to Crawford county in 1915 and married the former Laura Moon of Beaver Creek in August 1916. He was a retired school bus driver.

Besides his widow, those left to mourn his passing are four sons, Leon of Waterford, George of Flint, Chester of Grayling and Keith of Ann Arbor, three daughters, Norma Jones of Traverse City, Loretta Williams and Evelyn Johnston both of Grayling, three sisters, Mrs. M.J. McMillan of British Columbia, Mrs. Violet Harde of Miami, Manitoba, and Mrs. William McGinnis of Vermillion, Alberta, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at eleven o’clock Saturday morning October 23, at the Michigan Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev John W. Smith officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery with Forrest Annis, Earl Wood, IJ Atkins, Herbert Ferguson, Homer Annis, Russell Oven and Roy Elliot serving as pallbearers.

Friends and relatives here to attend the services were from Waterford, Flint, MI, Morris, Traverse City, Houghton Lake, Ann Arbor, Indiana, Gaylord, Higgins Lake, Breckenridge and Marshall.
