Nicholas R. Barber, 67, of Fife Lake, died Tuesday at Munson Medical Center.
He lived in Fife lake for the past seven years, moving from Ypsilanti, where he had lived for 28 years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Born in Grayling on Jan. 6, 1922, he was the son of Ross and Mary (Cholo) Barber. On Dec. 29, 1945, in Dearborn, he married the former June Parsons, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas R. Barber of Ann Arbor, and Todd J. Barber of Clinton; a brother, Andrew Barber of Mount Pleasant; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley. The Rev. Douglas K Olsen will officiate. Burial will be in Springfield Township Cemetery, Fife Lake.
Friends may visit from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed the Fife Lake Emergency Rescue Unit.
