Nancy (Shirey) Calkins, 80, of Tarpon Springs, passed away on Apr 23, 2021. She was born in Hinton, WV, to William Home and Alberdeen Elwanda (Sampson) Shirey. Nancy came to Clearwater, FL in 1957, from Richmond, VA, and was a graduate of Clearwater High School in 1958. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, an avid reader and artist. She was preceded in death by one son, William “Chuck” Charles Calkins Jr and one brother, David Raymond Shirey. She is survived by one daughter, Constanc Calkins (Steven) Bennett, of Tarpon Springs; one son, Christopher David (Kelley) Calkins of New Port Richey; one sister, Suzanne Shirey (Hoyt) Tidwell; one sister in law, Velma Shirey; seven grandchildren, Erica Calkins, Denise Backes, Meghan Calkins, Stephen (Laura) Watrous, Steven Bennett, Jeffrey (Ciara) Bennett, Michael Bennett; five great grandchildren, Michael Condento, William Backes, Nikolas Backes, Tyler Watrous, Jackob Watrous. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation of Suncoast Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Sat, May 1, at the Michels and Lundquist Funeral Home.
