Mrs. Mildred M. Sweet, 77, of Rapid City, died Sun, Oct 29, 1995, at Munson Medical Center.
Mrs. Sweet resided in Holly until moving to Rapid City in 1973. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Soltis Plastic Company in White Lake. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.
Born in Kalkaska County on Apr 22, 1918, she was the daughter of Lewis and Ola Harger Newton. On Feb 15, 1947, in Detroit, she was married to Kenneth Sweet who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Leo Newton of Weaverville, NC and Raymond Newton of Pontiac; one sister, Winifred Goble of Commerce Township; and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Glenn, Ward, and Lloyd Newton, adn one sister, Dorothy Bruemmer, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Thu, Nov 2, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of The Peoples Church, officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
