Melanie “Mel” A. McGary, 70, passed away on Tue, Oct 19, 2021 at her residence.
She was born on Jun 13, 1951 in Hartford City to Jack L Hornbaker and Zella L (Bantz) Hornbaker. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mel graduated from Hartford City High School in 1969.
She married Larry R McGary on Jul 28, 1973 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mel was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Blackford County Hospital Auxiliary. She retired from Pathology Associates in Muncie. She enjoyed making cards and quilling, which is th eart of rolled, shaped, and glued paper that results in creating a unified, decorative design.
Mel will be sadly missed by her husband, Larry R McGary of Hartford City; sons, Matthew R (wife, Kim) McGary of Gaston and Mike L McGary of Hartford City; granddaughter Sophia L McGary; siblings, Mark Hornbaker of Phoenix, Mikki L (husband, Greg) Skrypiec of South Bend and Marty L (wife, Ginger) Hornbaker of Warsaw; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 11 am Mon, Oct 25, 2021 at Hartford City Cemetery.
Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N High St, Hartford City is in charge of arrangements.
