Mrs. Mary Frederikson, resident of Garfield township since 1889, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Robinson, in Lansing, Friday, March 23, 1945. She was born in Alsace Loraine, France in 1872, coming to this country at the age of ten years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Nels Frederikson and settled on their farm in Garfield township where four children were born. Mr. Frederikson passed away in 1916. The following year she was married to Mr. Dines Frederikson, brother to her former husband.
They had spent two recent winters in Florida. This winter had been spent at the home of her daughter where she passed away after several weeks illness.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Rebekah Lodge of Fife Lake, a past president of Spanish War Veterans Auxiliary, and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Traverse City.
She leaves to mourn besides her husband and daughter, one son, Harry Frederikson of Fife Lake; two brothers, John and Eugene Birgy of Fife Lake, and a number of nieces and nephews. One grandson, Gale Frederikson is with the armed forces in France.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the home in Garfield township, with Rev. A.R. Ellis officiating. Interment was made in Clark cemetery in Springfield Township.
