Martha C. Gerring, 87, a lifelong resident of South Boardman, died Sat, Mar 11, 2000, in Kalkaska.
Mrs. Gerring was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, and enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She was born in South Boardman on Oct 1, 1912, the daughter of James and Jeanette Hogerheide VanAmburg.
On Dec 24, 1935, in South Boardman, she married Leslie Gerring.
He preceded her in death on Jan 31, 1993.
Surviving are son Gene Gerring of South Boardman; daughter Lois Szumera of South Boardman; brother Chester VanAmburg of Kalkaska, Orin VanAmburg and Jack VanAmburg both of Florida, and Gordon VanAmburg of Whitmore Lake; sister Pauline Scheck of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Brothers Martin and Elmer VanAmburg, and sister Marie Gragg preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Mar 14 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska, Rev. William McQueen officiated. Interment was in Boardman Township Cemetery, Kalkaska Cemetery.
