Leslie W. Gerring, 81, a lifelong resident of South Boardman, died Sun, Jan 31, 1993, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Gerring was employed for many years by the Penn Central Railroad prior to his retirement in 1974. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge, and enjoyed fishing, and gardening.
Born in South Boardman on Jan 20, 1912, he was the son of Robert and Mable Brown Gerring. On Dec 24, 1935, in South Boardman he was united in marriage with Martha VanAmburg who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Gene Gerring of Pisgah Forest, NC; one daughter, Lois Szumera of South Boardman; two brothers Wendell and Glen Gerring both of South Boardman; two sisters, Frances Olin of Lowell, and Gretchen Greenhoe of Belmont; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita, Emogene, and Marjorie Gerring.
Funeral services were held Tue, Feb 2, 1993, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Pastor Terry Williams officiated.
Burial was in Boardman Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
