Marjorie "Peggy" Lila Gerou, 85, of Rapid City passed away Tue, Oct 11, 2011, at Kalkaska Memorial's Eden Center. She was born on Sep 29, 1926 in Flint, to the late Clarence and Henrietta (Pottenburge) Kipp.
Peggy was a loving, caring person who was always quick to turn friends into family. She was a member of the Arrowhead Club in Flint, as well as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Kalkaska.
She will be forever missed by her children: Pamela Manchester, Fran (Chuck) Schuba, Harold (Cindy) Gerou, Lorena (Rock) Deater, Paulette (David) Hall, Anthony (Colleen) Gerou, and Buck (Leslie) Gerou; and fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Rick, Bob, Ryan, Felicia, David, Trina, Chuck, Travey, Dorothy, Tanya, Shawn, Jason, Roshelle, Rocky, Shan, Rockelle, David, Sarah, Shad, Shane, Tony, Troy, Sam, Kasey, and Kaitlyn; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, with 3 on the way; her sisters: Burnice Cone, Phyllis Tucker, Jeannie Winters, Patricia Brow; her brother Gordon Kipp; and many other friends and neighborhood family.
Petty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold F. Gerou, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and her son in law, David "Chet" Manchester.
Funeral services for Peggy were at Kalkaska Funeral Home on Sat, Oct 15 at 11 am. Pastor Jeff Badgero was the officiant. Peggy's final resting place will be next to her husband Harold at Clearwater Township Cemetery, private graveside services will be held.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the many special care givers at the Eden Center in Kalkaska.
