M. "Anita" VanderBrook of Cadillac, passed away Aug, 31, 2008 in Cadillac. She was 91. She was born Jan 10, 1917 in Belvidere Township, Montcalm County to Fred C. and May M. (Wiggins) Davenport. Anita worked during her twenties at the Hansen Camp in Fife Lake. She married Laurel VanderBrook, in 1938 at Cadillac, MI. She was a member of the Farm Bureau. Anita enjoyed reading, cooking, watching birds, living on the lake, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond and Helen Davenport, of NC, her niece Kathy, nephew Tom Maxwell of Cadillac, great nephew, Rob and Julia Maxwell of Cadillac, great nieces, Linda and Randy Bartlett of KS, Laurie Maxwell of Cadillac, great nephews, Tom and Donna Maxwell of Cadillac.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am Sat, Sep 6 at the Springfield Township Cemetery in Fife Lake. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas E. Ball. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Arrangements are being handled by the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home in Cadillac.
