Loyd E. “Tommy” Stephenson, 71, of Hamlet, NC, died Sunday, Nov 6, 2005 at his home.
He was born July 20, 1934 in Davidson County, NC the son of William Lester and Sudie (Mason) Stephenson.
He owned Tommy’s Place in Rockingham, NC for a number of yerars and participated in several productions with the Richmond Community Theater
Mr. Stephenson is survived by his wife, Carol E.; two sons, Thomas Edwin (Debra) of Hamlet, NC, and Charles Wayne (Teresa) of Rockingham, NC; a daughter, Valerie Jean Stephenson of Battle Creek, Mich. Two stepdaughters, Kimberly E. (Carl) Young of Indiana and Lisa Marie (Garry) Hayes of Mikado; two stepsons, Scott Allen (Kim) Laird of Harrisbille and Jason Wendell Laird of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Jessy and Syrina Stephenson of Rockingham, NC, Garrett Stephenson of Battle Creek, Mich., Laura Lane Stephenson and Amy (James) Simmons, both of Rockingham, NC, and Angela Hope Stephenson of Harrisville; one great grandchild, Gavin Stephenson of Harrisville; and one nephew, William Stephenson of Greensboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence (Stuck); four brothers, William Milton, Vernie O’Neal, Charles Milton and James Ralph; and one sister, Hazel Clyde Wilson.
