Mrs. Loyd Stephenson, 38, of Greenbush, was dead on arrival at Alpena General Hospital Friday, January 24. She was taken to the hospital by Alcona County Ambulance following an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in her home.
The former Florence M. stuck, she was born March 17, 1936 in Detroit. In 1956 she married Loyd Stephenson in South Carolina, and they moved to Greenbush in 1970. She had been employed as a postal clerk in Mikado until a few months ago, when she was forced to retire due to ill health.
Surviving besides her husband are three children, Thomas, with the Army, and Valerie and Charles at home; and her mother, Mrs. Lillian Stuck of Detroit.
The body was taken to Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln and from there to White Chapel Cemetery, Detroit, where Memorial Service were held at 11 a.m. Monday preceding the interment.
