Lila J. Roberts, age 89, of Yale and formerly of Brown City died Oct 28, 2022. She was born in Brown City to Earl and Francis Cronce. Lila graduated from Brown City High School Class of 1951. She married Donald E. Chandler Jan 6, 1952 and he died Mar of 1981. She then married John Roberts Jul 4, 1984.
Lila was a homemaker and housewife. She was also a Tupperware Dealer for many years. Lila was an active church member wherever she was living and served at Calvary Baptist Church in Brown City, the Brown City Missionary Church and Family Heritage Church of Harrisville. She taught children’s Sunday School for many years. Lila enjoyed cooking for family and serving others. Baking and decorating cakes was kind of a hobby. Lila was proud of her very fruitful gardens she kept. She was an expert at canning food and anything imaginable and would smile if you got the random hot pickle. Most of all she loved her time spent with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by 3 sons, Mike (Debbie) Chandler, Jeff (Cheri) Chandler, Jason Chandler, step-children Scott (Gerilynn) Roberts and Crystal Jarvis, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Olive Perry and many many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Chandler and John Roberts, a stepdaughter Debbie Roberts and five siblings Leland Cronce, Julian Cronce, Ruth Dedene, Helen Wolvin, and Neva Meyers.
Funeral services will be conducted Tue, Nov 1, 2022 at 1 pm at the Brown City Missionary Church with visitation starting at 10 am.
Serving as Casket Bearers are Kyle Chandler, Stephan Webb, Ty Webb, Connor Jarvis, Zachary Dettmer and Dylan Beals.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brown City Missionary Church of Family Heritage Baptist Church in Harrisville.
