Leah V. Lewis of Cadillac, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was 89.
She was born on July 9, 1913, in Wexford County to Samuel and Beulah A (Bourne) Gonyer. She married Gerald R. Lewis on Feb 26, 1972, in Cadillac. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1973.
Mrs. Lewis was employed in a factory and was a housekeeper. She loved her family, cooking and baking. Mr. Lewis also loved the Lord and was a member of the Cadillac Revival Center.
She is survived by her son, Bryce E. (Ruth) Loomis of Cadillac; grandchildren, Angela Huffer and Jeffrey Loomis both of Kokomo, Ind; great grandchildren, Casey, Destine and Levi; and sisters, Ruby (Bill) Schaaf of McBain, Gertrude Doyle of Manton and Emma (Neal) Schaaf of McBain.
In addition to her husband, Gerald, she was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Juna Bartholomew, Leona Stillwell, Beatrice Moore, Reo Gonyer, Louis Gonyer, and LaVern Gonyer.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Rev. Joseph H. Schichtel officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Township (Clark Cemetery) in Kalkaska County.
