John W. Thayer, aged 77, of 303 ½ S. Division Avenue, passed away Tue evening at Butterworth Hospital, after a lingering illness.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; one son, John W. Thayer Jr. of Wyoming; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia A. Tobey of Grand Rapids; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Thayer reposes at the DeGraaf-Blanchard Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, where funeral services will be held Sat morning at 10 am. Rev. Theron E. Bailey officiating. Interment Restlawn Memorial Park.
Members of the family will be at the funeral home Thu from 7 to 9 and Fri from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. A service by Debries-Kuiper-DeGraaf.
