John Needham Fegan died peacefully the evening of Feb 19, surrounded by his family. He was 97 years old and had lived a long and fulfilling life. Astrid, his wife of 74 years, preceded him in death 5 months ago. He was greatly loved and has left wonderful memories for family and friends. A graduate of Ohio State University and the University of Chicago Law School, John was an Emeritus member of the Michigan State Bar Association. His career included politics, service in the U.S. Navy during WWII, 30 plus years as an attorney with the Security and Exchange Commission and the Securities Department of Oregon. He was a Democrat all his life and an avid supporter of Obama! John and Astrid were parents of four children: Sally Nyman and Patty Richardson preceded them in death. His daughter, Joan Coulson and husband Jim of Vashon Island; his son, Andy Fegan and wife Yauska of Honolulu, HA; nine grandchildren and eight great granddaughters survive him. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Mar 8 at 1pm at Foundation House.
