John C. Langenberg Sr., 54, of 1841 Marathon Drive, Cadillac, died Monday afternoon at Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital, where he had been a patient since April 19. He had been in failing health for five years.
He was born on Oct 14, 1924 in Cadillac. On Dec 24, 1954 he married the former Edna E. Mitchell at Cadillac.
He attended elementary schools at Stone Ledge Lake and graduated from Cadillac High School. He was employed at Cadillac Foundry for 30 years.
Mr. Langenberg was a member of Temple Hill Baptist Church of Cadillac.
Survivors include his wife: two sons, john Jr. and Fred, both of Cadillac; two stepsons, Reubin Guthrie of Cadillac and Robert Guthrie of Three Rivers; a step-daughter, Irene (Mrs. Loren) Greudinich of Cadillac; two grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Peterson Funeral Home with the Revs. Arnold Olson and Jack Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery at Fife Lake.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
