Edna E. Langenberg of Sebastian, Florida formerly of Cadillac passed away Tuesday evening, June 26, 2018 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was 86. Edna was born on December 15, 1931 in Grand Traverse County, Michigan to Fred & Irene (Perkins) Mitchell. On December 24, 1954 in Cadillac she married John C. Langenbert Sr and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1979. While living in Florida Edna had worked at Pitney Bowes for many years. When living in Cadillac she attended Temple Hill Baptist Church and while in living in Florida she was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Grant, Florida.
Survivors include her children: Irene (Loren) Grudenich of Cadillac, Robert Guthrie of Batavia, New York, John Langenberg Jr of Sebastian, Florida and Fred Langenberg of Cadillac; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and a sister, Roseann Middlebrook of Saginaw. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Reubin Guthrie; her siblings: Adolph, Ernest, and Clyde Mitchell, Matilda Mitchell and Leona Hurlburt.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services in Cadillac with Pastor Jack Miller officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery in Fife Lake. Friends may meet the family Monday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club of Cadillac.
