Jean I. Johnson, age 89, of Mesa, AZ and Muskegon, MI was born in Brown City, MI and went to heaven Aug 21, 2015.
Jean, after earning a MA in Educational Psychology, was a School Psychologist for the Mason County ISD for over 20 years and for the Pinal County ISD for another 15 years. She enjoyed being a US and world traveler. Jean was a member of the Red Hat Society both in Mesa, AZ and Baldwin, MI.
She is survived by her companion, Tom Talmadge of Muskegon, MI, son Rod (Sharon) Simonson, Holt, MI and daughter, Jan (Karin) Simonson, Temecula, CA, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, siblings, Wayne (Linda) Shephard, Donna Robinson, Betty St. Germaine, Helen Burgess-Fausch, and Shirley Machiela.
She was preceded in death by son, Rick Simonson, husbands, Bill Simonson, Darrell Brown, and Bill Johnson, parents, Otis and Edith Shephard, birth father, Tom Burgess, brothers, Irvin, Elton, Lawrence, and Don Burgess and sister, Wilma O’Brien.
A memorial service and gathering will be held Sun, Aug 30, 2015 at 1 pm at the Omard United Methodist Church, Brown City, MI with a meal to follow. Jean will be inurned at the Omard Cemetery.
