Mr. Ira J. Sewell, age 63, died Fri, Jan 31, 1997 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord.
Born in Gaylord on Mar 6, 1933. He lived most of his life in the Gaylord area. He was a former employee of the Otsego County Road Commission, Lloyd Wolf Construction and for the past 10 years he worked as a handyman for BJ’s Restaurant.
During the Korean War he served in the US Army and was a member of the DAV and the FOE #1825.
Surviving are: his wife, Joyce; children, Kimberlee (Joel) Wasylewski of Elmira, Jeffery (Becky) of Gaylord, Paul of Gaylord, Mark (Geri) of Gaylord; 5 brothers, Warren, Harley, Kenneth “John”, Melvin and Floyd; 3 sisters, Gwen Tibbetts, Alice Cockerill and Joyce Wolf; also 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tue at 11 am from the Nelson Funeral Home, Elder Ted Engle Jr. officiated. Burial will be in Otsego Lake Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Disabled American Veterans through the Nelson Funeral Home.
