Mrs. Hilda M. Thornburg, 78, of Athens, formerly of Mancelona, died Mon, Jan 10, 1994, at Hillside Manor in Kalamazoo.
Mrs. Thornburg was born in Palmo, ND on Aug 17, 1915, daughter of the late Fred and Luella Jones Musser. On Feb 28, 1936, she was married to Robert L. Thornburg who preceded her in death on Jan 26, 1990.
Mrs. Thornburg had been a resident of Athens from the past 20 years, and was a member of the North Athens Baptist Church. She enjoyed music and the outdoors.
Surviving are two sons, James Thornburg of Athens and Robert J. Thronburg of lenrose, TX; three brothers, Robert Musser of Kalkaska and Raymond and William Musser both of Mancelona; four sisters, Marie Thornburg and Margaret Fleet both of Mancelona, Helen Sandeen of Elk Rapids, and Viola Chervenda of Traverse City; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thu, Jan 13, 1994 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Marvin Salvola officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Bible Society or the North Athens Baptist Church Building Fund.
