Mr. Harry M. Gavin, 84, of Rapid City, died Wed, Apr 30, 1997, at Meadows of Grayling.
Mr. Gavin moved to Kalkaska County from Detroit in 1965. He worked as a tool and die marker at General Motors and Burroughs Corporation prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and enjoyed fishing.
Born in North Bradic, PA on Jul 15, 1912, he was the son of Martin and Agusta Miskus Gavin. On Sep 30, 1961, in Detroit, eh married Nora Barr, who survives.
Also surviving are stepson Dale (Judy) Barr of Harrison; sister Ida (Walter) Dorf of Livonia; sister in law Josephine Gavin of Detroit; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A brother, Edward, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska. Rev. Ted Turanski officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
