Mrs. Gertrude V. Barber, 94, of Rapid City, died Thu, Aug 7, 1997, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.
Mrs. Barber had been a longtime resident of Rapid City and was affiliated with the Rapid City Church of Christ. An avid fisherman and hunter, she also enjoyed watching baseball games, sewing, and reading.
She was born in Central Lake on Sep 24, 1902, to Theodore and Ellen Chisholm Mosher. She married Forrest Barber on Mar 18, 1925, in Traverse City. He preceded her in death on Sep 11, 1987.
Surviving are a son, Barney (Lorena) Barber of Rapid City; grandchildren, Dianne (J.R.) Gentry of Rapid City, Marsha (Charles) Clark of Bellaire, Terri (Matthew) Franzen of Grosse Pte Park, and Tony (Sherri) Barber of Rapid City; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Jerry Rupe officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
