Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Clapsaddle, 68, passed away in his home on Sep 1, 2021 in Kingston. He was born Jul 12, 1953 to Wayne Clark and Maxine Helen (McQuarrie) Clapsaddle in Marlette.

Jerry grew up and met Arlene Bower at the age of 16. They married in 1973 in Clifford and traveled the world together during Jerry’s service with the U.S. Army. Together they visited Europe and lived in Germany, Hawaii, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Jerry served two tours in South Korea. In 1975, Jerry and Arlene welcomed their first daughter, Mandy, and upon returning home to Michigan welcomed a second daughter, Megan in 1983. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in April of 2021.

Jerry enjoyed chatting with folks in small town diners, zoo trips, and watching classic tv shows like Bonanza and Leave It To Beaver. He was fond of feeding his sweet tooth, playing with their dog Cooper, and many games of Yahtzee. Most importantly, Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was so proud of their accomplishments and loved watching them grow.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughters: Mandy (Shawn) Savage, Megan (Michael) Hannah; grandchildren: Sarah (Riley) Magiera, Jacob Savage, Hudson Hannah, Nash Hannah; brothers, Chuck (Marilyn) Clapsaddle, Vern (Michelle) Clapsaddle; sister in law, Nancy (Gary) Klee; brothers in law: Gary (Karen) Bower, Ron Bower, Jim (Carlotta) Bower; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Clapsaddle; mother in law, Ida Bower; father in law, Arthur Bower; sisters in law, Ann Bower, Carolyn Bower.

Visitation with Jerry’s family will take place from 5pm to 8pm. Fri, Sep 10, 2021, in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston.
