Gerald R. Lewis, 60, of Cadillac, formerly of 420 Munson Ave., Traverse City, passed away early Friday morning at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac, where he had been a patient for weeks. His illness had extended over a year. Surviving are his wife Leah; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Jean) Lada of Traverse City and Mrs. Willard (Dorothy) Febrenbach of St. Meyers, Fla.; two sons, Charles of Grand Rapids and Donald of Traverse City; one step son Bryce Loomis of Cadillac; one sister, Mrs. Lesley (Margaret) Rickerd of Traverse City and eight grandchildren. Mr. Lewis was born July 1, 1912 at Empire. He attended school and farmed near Maple City, and was employed by the Traverse City State Hospital for 31 years. He was married on Feb 26, 1972 at Cadillac to the former Leah Loomis. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Cadillac. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac, the Rev. Ward Pierce officiating. Interment will be made in Springfield Cemetery, Fife Lake.
