Ford E. Hittle, 83, of Mancelona, died Sun, Jan 24, 1993 a Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Hittle was a life-long resident of Kalkaska County. He was a past member of Rapid River Township School Board, and he enjoyed watching television, hunting, and fishing.
He was born on Apr 16, 1909, in Mecosta County, to Philip H. and Ella Mae (Rose) Hittle. On Oct 17, 1936, in South Bend, IN, he married Donna E. Angell, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Burton Hittle of Alden, Dennis Hittle of Rapid City, and Willard Hittle of Mancelona; three daughters, Barbara Thornburg of Kalkaska, Sylvia Miller of Alden and Ellen Slade of Kalkaska; one brother, Jesse Hittle of Ruth: two sisters, Mary Radwonski and Blanche Shepardson, both of Manton; 41 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Hittle; two sisters, Linda Forman and Florence Hart; one brother, James Hittle; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thu, Jan 28, 1993 at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska, Rev. Dale Whipple officiated. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kalkaska County. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
