Mrs. Ethel M. Symonds, 72, of rt. #1, Fife Lake, died Thursday July 25, 1974, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Daughter of the late Riley and Mary Allen, she was born June 7, 1902, in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Symonds was married in Evart, Michigan, September 30, 1919, to James V. Symonds who preceded her in death, July 28, 1973.
Surviving her are two sons, Harold of Fife Lake, and Allen of Wyoming; six daughters, Mrs. Helen Leatherwood of Norfolk, VA, Mrs. Pauline Stettler and Mrs. Wenona Cummer both of Fife Lake, Mrs. Grace Potter of Hastings, Mrs. Edna Van Splintern of Charlotte, and Mrs. Donna Pearson of Karlin; and 34 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Mrs. Symonds was a resident of the Fife Lake area since 1944.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 27, 1974 at 10 a.m., from the Schwartz-Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska, with Rev. Dale Kronemeyer, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed at Springfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
