Ellen Mae Helsel, 81, of Beaver Creek Township, passed away on Dec 14, 2020.
She was born on Jul 9, 1939 to the late Luther and Virgie Snyder in Fife Lake. She married Jacob Nevare Helsen in Lake City, MI. He preceded her in death in 1989. Ellen was a generous and giving person that was close to her family. She supported all family activities and sports. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, going to garage sales, crocheting, playing cards and other games, flowers and gardening, and playing tricks or jokes on others.
Survived by her children: Virginia, Deb, Cindy, Jake “Frenchie” and his wife Ginger, Jesse, and Travis. Grandchildren: Jason, Casey, Tanya (Bosco) Babbitt, Alyson (Matt) Swinehart, Charlene (Tim) Self, Jake Jr, Emmet, and Piper. She was also blessed with 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her children: Luke, Stevie, and Stacy; sister, Luella Helsel; and brother, Leonard Snyder.
Public visitation following strict Covid precautions, including mandatory masks, will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Sat, Dec 19, 2020 between 11 am and 1 pm. A private family service will be held. Interment will be in spring of 2021 at Beaver Creek Cemetery.
