Kirchner, Elizabeth Jane Flaherty, 89, of Wheeling, W.Va., formerly of Warwood, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, in the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling.
She was born October 8, 1918 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Michael J. and Emma L. Taylor Flaherty.
Mrs. Kirchner was retired from Wheeling Jesuit University’s food service program as a chef’s assistant; and she was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George O. Kirchner in 1989; a brother; five sisters; and a granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Kirchner
Surviving are a son, George M. Kirchner of Wheeling; four daughters, Fran Johnson of El Paso, Texas, Margaret Stocke, Mary Klosterman and Betsy Bentz all of Wheeling; a sister, Clara F. Wheatley of Wheeling; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Reverend James O’Brien as celebrant.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
