Edward A. Zundel, 78, of Kalkaska, a retired Detroit Police Officer, died Saturday afternoon, May 26, 1990 at Munson Medical Center.

Mr. Zundel moved to Kalkaska in 1963 from Detroit. In Kalkaska County he was very active in Civic affairs, and served as Coldsprings Township Supervisor and Assessor. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. 

Mr. Zundel was born in Detroit on November 16, 1911, to Anthony and Berna Olsen Zundel. On Sept 12, 1935, in Ohio, hew as united in marriage with Vivian Hansen who survives. 

Besides his wife, he is survived on one son Gary Zundel of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Sharon Eichstadt of Glen Arbor; one brother, Eugene Zundel of Melvindale; three sisters, Bernice McComsey of Melvindale, Betty Smith of Allen Park, and Marion Zundel of Westland; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. 

Four brothers, Gerald, Anthony, Robert John, and James, preceded him in death. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 29, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Dick Riley, pastor of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
