Dorothy E Snyder, cherished wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 95 of Traverse City passed away on Sun, Oct 6, 2019 at her home.
Dorothy was born on Apr 1, 1924 in Fife Lake, MI to the late William and Lulu (Gonyer) Timmins.
On Feb 25, 1941, she married Wilbur E Snyder of Fife Lake, MI. Together they raised six children.
Dorothy loved to garden and canned many vegetables and fruits over the years. She was employed at Burwood Products of Traverse City for 10 years. She also worked in the canning factories and took care of elderly people at her home. She loved baking, and preparing homemade meals for her family.
Her greatest joy was sharing time with her children and grandchildren. She always loved working in her flowers and vegetable garden. She loved music and going to dances.
She will be greatly missed and loved by her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents William and Lulu (Gonyer) Timmins, husband Wilbur Snyder Sr, and sons Wilbur Snyder Jr and Richard L Snyder. By two sisters, Pearl Wurm and Lucille Warner Snyder and three brothers, Cleo, Roy, and Richard Timmins.
She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Kinder and Connie Kirsch, sons William (Karen) Snyder and Michael (Sheila) Snyder, all of Traverse City. Also 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are welcome to visit with Dorothy’s family from 4 to 7 pm on Wed, Oct 9, 2019 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. The family will pray the Rosary at 7 pm.
A funeral service honoring Dorothy will take place at 1 am with visitation at 10 am on Thu, Oct 10, 2019 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Deacon Rene Hoenscheid will officiate.
