Donna Wilson of Fife Lake died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at her home after being in failing health for several years. She was 77.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1931 in Fife Lake to Wilbur and Letha (Denmon) Downey and grew up in the Fife Lake area. She married Ray Wilson in Cascade, Mich. On Feb. 23, 1952.
She was a graduate of Central Michigan University and taught school in several places, including Moorestown, Lowell and Fife Lake, and retired from Kenwood School in Cadillac.
She was a charter member of the Fife Lake American Legion Post 219 Auxiliary and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, bowling, and being with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; three sons, Donald (Brenda) Wilson of Manton, Michael (Cora) Wilson of Fife Lake and Daniel (Nancy) Wilson of Fife Lake; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Wilson in 2003; and by two sisters, Shirley Hewitt and Betty Battenfield.
A family graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at Clark Cemetery in Springfield Township.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Hall Funeral Chapel in Manton.
