Don was born Mar 20, 1926, in Michigan City, to the late Rudolph "Rudy" Heisman and Laura Dorsey Heisman Baker.
On Mar 31, 1961 he married Fay Lawson Heisman who passed away on Nov 4, 2006.
Surviving are three daughters: Kim Heisman, Michigan City, Barb (John) Spisiak, Littleton, CO and Donna (Stan) Lowe, Waterloo, IN; two sons: Scott (TJ) Heisman, Michigan City, and Robert (Donna) Heisman, Moorehead, NC; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Leona (Roger) Schlack, Michigan City and Richard Heisman, South Bend.
Proceeding him in death is one sister, Norene Seigmund.
Don was retired from U.S. Steel after 37 years of service as a instrument repairman.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and Korea. He was a member of Moose Family No 980.
He was loving father and husband and loved having his morning coffee with his best buds. He also loved to fish.
