DEATH: 27 Aug 2002 Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan

Donald Forrest Perrin, 84, of Fife Lake, went to be with the Lord Aug. 27. 2002, at Munson Hospital in Traverse City. He was born Nov. 2. 1917. in Garfield Township, the son of Benjamin and Kate (Lund) Perrin.

Donald graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1935. He received his teacher's certificate from Antrim County Normal and his bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. Donald married Betty Jane Fultz in 1938. In 1964, after Betty died, Donald married Ruth Stuck.

He was a devoted school teacher for 35 years, teaching from 1936 until 1972. He was on the Garfield Township Board for 43 years during which time they bought the property which became the Garfield Ball Park, a place for all to play ball. Donald worked at Camp Grayling during the summer for 36 years. He enjoyed hunting. fishing. gardening, baseball and most of all being a teacher, husband, dad and grandfather. Donald has indeed touched many lives.

Donald is survived by sons Rodger Perrin of Kalkaska, Larry (Kathy) Perrin of Fife Lake, Lynn (Sandi) Perrin of Kalkaska, Donnie (Betty) Perrin of Fife Lake, and Fred (Teresa) Perrin of Grayling: daughters Terry (Roland) Helsel of Lake City. and Mary (Jim) Adent of St. Joseph; daughters-in- Judy Euler of St. loseph and (Susan Perrin of Grayling: brothers Gilbert Perrin of South Boardman. Warren Perrin and Devere Perrin both of Fife Lake; 25 grand- children, 48 great-grandchildren.one great-great-granddaughter, special friend Josie Clay of Fife Lake and dear cousin Eleanor McCool of Kalkaska.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Betty and his second wife Ruth; and two grandsons, Scott Helsel and Danny Perrin.

Visitation was at Wolfe Funeral Home The funeral service was conducted on Aug. 31 at the funeral home. The Rev. Kimberland Hough officiated Interment is at Garfield Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in behalf of Donald Forrest Perrin to Garfield Country Church Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
