Mrs. Clara Bell Calkins, 82, of Fife Lake, died Tue, Jun 23, 1998, at Munson Medical Center.
Mrs. Calkins spent most of her life in Kalkaska County. She enjoyed crocheting.
Clara was born in Jackson County on Jun 17, 1916, daughter of the late Orson and Cora Brooks Brodock. She married Victor Calkins in Jackson on Sep 18, 1933. He died on Apr 19, 1981.
Surviving are son David Calkins of fife Lake; daughter Esther Evans of Lakeland, FL; sister Leona Calkins of Roscommon; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Son Virgil and several siblings preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Jun 26 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. Paul Karges officiated. Burial is in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
