Charles L. Shurtz, age 82, died suddenly Tuesday, October 10, 1950 at the residence, West Barnes Road, Millington. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm. Friday, October 13, 1950 from the Hanlin Funeral Home, Millington. Burial in Case Cemetery in Oakland County. Mr. Shurtz will be at the funeral home. Arrangements by W.E. Hanlin. He was born in Oakland County December 14, 1868, son of Benjamin and Charlotte Shurtz and was a member of the Oakland County Sportsman Club. His life work was that of a farmer. Surviving are: wife, Nellie Shurtz; 4 daughters: Mrs. Effie Martin of Pontiac, Mrs. Lucy Young of Davisburg, Mrs. Flora Butterfield of Troy, Mrs. Jenette Neaheuson of Millington; 6 sons, Donald of Pontiac, Francis of California, Sidney of Millington, Vernon of Rochester, Willard of Davison and Jerry of Lapeer; sister, Mrs. Carolyn Crankshaw of Flint; 25 grandchildren.
