Betty Jean Gondol, 80, of Fife Lake passed away Jan 30, 2005, at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Betty was born Jun 23, 1924, in South Haven, the daughter of Art and Ruth (Bolles) Nation.
Betty married Simon J Gondol on Dec 23, 1944, in Flint. Together they raised their children and moved to Fife Lake in 1973. Betty devoted her life to her family; being a mom and grandmother were her greatest rewards.
Surviving Betty are her sons, Simon "John" (Phylis) Gondol Jr of Cadillac and Roger D (Jodee) Gondol Sr, of Fife Lake; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Art Nation, Bobby Nation, Barbara Nation Shinaver, and Darlene Nation Ballard.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Simon, in 1990; daughter, Ruth Ann Gondol; great grandaughter, Ivy Nicole Wellington; and sister, Delores Nation Simons.
The funeral service was held Tue, Feb 1, at the Wolfe Funeral Home. The Rev. Bruce VanDussen of the Fife Lake Baptist Church officiated. Interment will be at Fife Lake Cemetery in the spring when weather permits.
