Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Ouderkirk, 62, a former village president here, who died Wednesday morning at her Grand Rapids home, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Smith funeral home, Kingsley.
Rev. Bruce Crawford of the Fife Lake Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Clark Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Mrs. Ouderkirk was born July 13, 1902 in Stittsville, Michigan, the daughter of George and Hattie Westcott, and she married Amos Dine in 1918. Four children were born to this union. Mr. Dine preceded her in death in 1928.
In January of 1934, she married Ray Ouderkirk, and to this union two children were born.
Mrs. Ouderkirk was a former treasurer of Fife Lake township, president of the Methodist Church Ladies Aid, and a former president of the village of Fife Lake.
Surviving are three sons, George E. Dine and Norval F Dine, both of Grand Rapids, and Wilbur W. Dine of the U.S. Air Force at Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Cooper of Cooper, Michigan, and Mrs. Ralph (Rosemary) Scharhorn of Grandville; 15 grandchildren; a brother Charles Westcott of Fife Lake; and a sister, Mrs. Leo (Minnie) Fisher of R. 5. Traverse City.
A son, Devere Dine was killed overseas during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944.
