Bernadine E. Seeley, 86, of Rapid City passed away peacefully at her home on Apr 22, 2004.
She was born on Oct 5, 1917, in Kalkaska County, the daughter of John and Margaret (Gambin) Steve.
Bernadine married Donald G. Seeley on Oct 12, 1935, in Kalkaska. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was named "Mother of the Year" in 2003.
Bernadine enjoyed gardening, her flower garden, bird watching, baking and she was known for her delicious pies.
She was always willing to put others first in her life and her faith and belief in God was life long. Bernadine especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Bernadine is survived by her children, Alan (Bonnie Ferrell) Seeley, Kelly (Dianna) Seeley, Michaeline (Marvin) Crawford, Barry (Diane) Seeley, Gary Seeley, and Bernard Seeley, all of Kalkaska; grandchildren, Michael (Stacey) Seeley, Kelly L Seeley, Donald (Julie) Seeley, Justin (Lisa) Seeley, Mary (David) Moore, Monica (Everett) Homan, Cassie (Brian) Allen, and Darcie (Josh) Hicks; 16 great grandchildren; and her sister, Sally McGarry of Eaton Rapids.
Preceding Bernadine in death was her husband, Donald, on Dec 18, 1968; her siblings, Ann Birgy, John Donahue and Joseph Steve; and her daughter in law, Bonnie Seeley.
Visitation was held on Sun, Apr 25, with the scripture service at Wolfe Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial was held on Mon, Apr 26, at St Mary of the Woods. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
