Andrew David Tallman, 77, passed away August 29, 2012 at his home in Fife Lake, Michigan after a battle with cancer. Andy was born in Deford, Michigan to Orso and Hazel (Wilson) Tallman on June 14, 1935. He went to Manton High School and joined the United States Air Force in 1952. He married Jessie Mae Battenfield September 12, 1953 in Fife Lake, Michigan. He resided in Caro, MI for 49 years and then Fife Lake, MI since 2003. He was a respected businessman and community member in the Caro area stating with an engine rebuilding shop that expanded into several auto parts stores in the thumb region of Michigan. The last 35 years he was involved in oil production, owning and working in stripper oil wells. Andy enjoyed working, fishing, hunting, traveling, exploring the back roads and spending time with the grandchildren. He was a valued member of Fife Lake Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday School and served the Lord faithfully. Andy is survived by his wife, Jessie; sons, Alexand (Jill) Tallman, Samuel (Sue) Tallman, Roland (Kelly) Kenski; daughter, Rebecca (Don) Sayers; son in law, Milton Hanson; grandchildren, Luke, Alyssa, Kyrstin, Andrew, Timothy, Patrick, Brittney, Michelle (Andy), Dee (Dave), Matt (Melissa), and Rachel; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Hiram and Bruce Tallman and sister, Winnie Bridson. Andy was preceded in death by daughter Patricia Ann Hanson; son Andrew David Tallman Jr; siblings, Dorothy Tuttle, Helen Babich, Marvin Tallman, Irene Baron, Grace Carpenter, Kenneth Tallman and Marian Goodin. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Andy to Fife Lake Baptist Church and Munson Hospice. A funeral service for Mr. Tallman will be held at Fife Lake Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2012 with Pastor Bruce VanDussen officiating. Final visitation will begin at 11:00 am at church. A luncheon will follow the service at the Fife Lake American Legion-Post 219, burial will be in Springfield Township Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home.
