Alfred Leon Sewell, 6980 Castle Rd, Fostoria, MI, age 70, died Sat, Feb 7, 1970 at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital, Saginaw. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wed at Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel. Rev. Alan LaRose officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Sewell will lie in state at Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel, Garland at Third Avenue. Death was due to complications following a 4 month illness. Mr. Sewell was born in Grayling, Jun 20, 1899, the son of Isely D. and Agnes Belle Graham Sewell and lived in Detroit for 45 years. He was employed at Ex-Cell-O Corp in Detroit for 24 years and at Chevrolet Manufacturing Division for 20 years, retiring in Jun of 1968. Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Viola Sewell; 2 daughters, Mrs. Velma Ruth Koons of San Diego, CA, and Mrs. Leota Nolan of Birmingham, MI; 7 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Lucinda (Babe) Gibbs of Lapeer; niece, Christine Evans of Lapeer; nephew, Gerald Reid of Vassar.
